Anne Smith and Jean Lemonnier have put the landscapes and wildlife of our planet at the heart of their trips around the world since being invested ‘Official Painters’ for the (French) Navy in 2005. The eagle eye of Anne Smith, whether painting large acrylics in the studio, or gouaches and oils in the field is strong and accurate. The works of animals and birds, instinctively captured by Jean Lemonnier in bronze, stone and wood, radiate both poetry and his tenderness. Two artists linked by the sea and the way they see.
